Community Focus

The “Community Focus” of LifeStone Church is that Authentic Relationships, Serving Our Community, and Spiritual Transformation would bridge all cultures to the cross.

The community focus is the heartbeat and DNA of LifeStone Church.  As we do our part in developing authentic relationships with people, and we serve and love those people unconditionally, that is when God shows up and does only what He can do, spiritual transformation of the hearts and lives of those people He adores more than anything in the world.  When all of these key elements occur, we like to say that we are “bridging all cultures to the cross”!

The real question in trying to understand the LifeStone Church community focus is simple, how are we going to put it into action?  Here is how:

So what is a tangible way we can accomplish our community focus?  We believe that our mission of “Celebrate God. Enjoy Life, Love People” is us putting our community focus into action.  These three are the major connection points at LifeStone Church and the ways we will start to “bridge all cultures to the cross”.  Celebrate God represents all of our worship gatherings.  The times where we corporately come together to put God first!  We worship God through singing and the preaching of the Word. Enjoy Life represents the opportunities we have to connect with people and do life together.  This would mostly consist of our ministries and especially our small groups.  And last but not least, Love People represents the outreach arm of LifeStone Church.  Our outreach team, South Side Speaks, is focused completely on moving outside the walls of the church and serving the great community of South Side, our nation, and our world!

In 1 Peter 2:4-5, Peter identifies Jesus as the Living Stone (Life Stone): “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood…” Our desire at LifeStone Church is to direct people to the one and true Life Stone, Jesus Christ, through our love for God, our life for life, and our love for people!
